Position Overview:

Process Technician for robotic fabrication and assembly. Position requires the individual to support automated operations by training operators to properly use equipment and maintain process equipment in effort to promote equipment efficiency. Must be self-starting and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Training of robotic personnel.
  • Assists with maintaining robotic welding, adhesive application, and fastening equipment.
  • Jogging of Fanuc robotics and other automation devices and hardware.
  • Assist with maintaining process documentation.
  • Troubleshooting, direction of maintenance personnel and equipment suppliers during line stoppages.
  • Fixture and assembly; assist in design and integration.
  • Assist with creating good design for manufacturability principles.
  • Aid in the development and qualification of new processes and tooling.
  • Verify inventory on robotic consumables.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance schedules and required activities.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods with an emphasis on welding, finishing, and assembly of Knapheide products.
  • Robotics, PLC / HMI knowledge a plus
  • Familiarity of Solidworks or comparable solid modeling program, PDM and MS Office.
  • Ability to learn new processes and apply concepts rapidly.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate progress to management.
  • Continuous Improvement experience.

Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:

Normal standing, bending, walking or lifting ability associated with a manufacturing environment. Capable of working in an industrial manufacturing environment in proximity to sources of noise, weld flash, and metal dust. Must be capable of communicating verbally with individuals at all levels of the organization and have good critical reasoning, organization, and mechanical skills.
