General Description:

As a critical member of the KTEC Human Resources team, the KTEC HR Specialist will assist in developing and executing KTEC's overall organizational health strategy by identifying and attracting top talent to the organization and support of all aspects of organizational development by conducting needs assessments and developing programs that maximize manager and colleague effectiveness.

Position Expectation Statements:

The KTEC HR Specialist will partner with Knapheide leaders to design, and implement resources, processes, and programs that support hiring talented individuals, employee development, career mobility, and organizational bench strength.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Establishing the recruitment process; including overseeing local execution, and direct recruiting for key roles.
  2. Support the recruitment and onboarding process, including training appropriate personnel on how the program works.
  3. Conducts needs analysis with General Managers and hiring managers to plan for and achieve high volume hiring during peak business demands across designated business area.
  4. Collaborate with key stakeholders and hiring managers to develop a strong understanding of department culture, business strategy and talent profiles to deliver on the hiring needs of the business.
  5. Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on market trends, competitive insights, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  6. Partnering with staffing firms and ensuring contracts all in line with corporate standards.
  1. Manage EEO, affirmative action, and other required HR reporting processes for the firm.
  2. Establishes, administers, and audits all KTEC training programs.
  1. Assesses training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with executives, managers, and company representatives.
  2. Coordinate and facilitate certification programs for internal talent development.
  3. Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers' specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
  4. Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
  5. Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  6. Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  7. Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
  8. Manages employee issues when HR Manager is unavailable.
  9. Participates in other HR duties as assigned.
  10. Travel as needed to Knapheide facilities. Estimated to be up to 20%.

Preferred Experience and Training:

  1. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to manage across functions at various levels.
  2. Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  3. Ability to research, evaluate and implement effective recruiting, training, and development programs.
  4. Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
  5. Must demonstrate flexibility, agility, and resilience to thrive on change and manage through competing priorities and timelines in a rapidly changing, dynamic and growing work environment.
  6. Strong time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work demands with an attention to detail.
  7. Ability to build partnerships with various teams both internally and externally.
  8. Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources practices, employment laws, and compliance experience.
  9. Strong awareness of state and federal employment regulations.
  10. Resourceful, analytical, and problem-solving aptitude.
  11. Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  12. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Normal standing, walking, bending, and twisting as necessary to perform job duties.
  2. Exposed to normal seasonal temperatures.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field required.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in human resources and/or talent (preferably as a recruiter, HR generalist and/or learning & development).
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
