Position Details:

You will oversee a team of 10-15 maintenance technicians in keeping our Distribution Center maintained and running. You will report to the Manager DC Facilities.

There is a 2nd shift (starting at 1pm) and 3rd shift (starting at 9pm) opening.Supervisors working nights are eligible for a $6,000 annual/paid quarterly shift differential (subject to rules regarding policy.)

You Will:

  • Review work requests and respond or assign to your team to ensure projects are completed within deadlines
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development to team members to create an environment that promotes growth and safety. This includes performance evaluations, recognition, and disciplinary action.
  • Identify and diagnose problems and recommend solutions for all equipment, building, and system failures, including automation and robotic equipment
  • Make recommendations to improve performance, efficiencies, and safety of Operational Equipment such as conveyors, power industrial equipment, goods to person
  • Analyze preventive and predictive maintenance programs for effectiveness or safety and develop programs where none exist.
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to create preventative maintenance schedules and work assignments to repair, replace, or remove equipment, fixtures, or furniture.
  • Partner with Operations and other departments within Grainger and with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to limit impact on operations.

You Have:

  • Experience leading a team of maintenance technicians
  • Five years experience in large warehouse or distribution center maintenance operations
  • Experience maintaining building management systems and automated material handling equipment such as I/O device network systems (e.g. Profibus/CanBus/Ethernet, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Motor controls/Drives, and Power Distribution Systems)
  • Knowledge of Fire Protection systems, Electrical controls and distribution
