Donor Specialists at LifeSource screen and interview potential blood donors and determine their suitability based on FDA and organizational Standard Operating Procedures. Our Donor Specialists perform various procedures including drawing blood, labeling blood products, performing equipment quality control and handling donor reactions. As part of our culture, LifeSource maintains a high standard for all employees to provide a customer service-oriented attitude evidenced by their enthusiasm in serving people and good listening skills. Our Donor Specialists work in a heavily regulated environment with strict operating guidelines in order to assure reliable quality outcomes.
LifeSource expects that Donor Specialist candidates will have completed their academic or certification education in any of the following healthcare disciplines: Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist or Emergency Medical Technician or have at least two years work experience in a medical related field. We will recognize qualified candidates by their strong communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. It is important for candidates to demonstrate their previous experience working effectively in team oriented environments. Candidates must possess basic computer navigation skills.

Mobile Donor Specialists are required to travel to various donation sites on a daily basis within a specified region of the Chicagoland area. In order to carry out the requirements of this position it is important that candidates have their own reliable transportation.
